Summary
The culminating coursework for my masters program came with the TE 893 Field Experience
Below are four of the five modules required within that experience.

Action Research Project
The focus for this action research was information literacy instruction, or lack thereof, taking place in the library at South Sioux City Middle School. School librarian Valerie Willers hopes to change that, and the data presented within supports her thoughts. Teachers and students surveyed said they would benefit from a little more time on 21st century skills. The paper offers up a two-tiered approach on how to help solve the problem.
Collaborative Information Literacy Integration Project 3
Sixth grade learners in Homer used skills, resources and tools to inquire, think critically, and gain knowledge in researching the meanings behind their given names. Evaluating resources and respecting copyright and intellectual property were goals of the project along with a focus on writing and speaking standards.
Field Experience Log TE 893
For several days in February, I interned with Valerie Willers in the South Sioux City Middle School Library Media Center. The log documents the schedule and general activities of each day along with my commentary on some of the events and issues she faces.
Professional Development Conference Report
I attended School Librarians' Day at UNO in the spring of 2011. Highlighted in the report is information on some networking I was able to do and several sessions I sat in on, including those on book reviews, policies, integrated library services and the future of reading.
