School librarian as Advocate and Leader.
School librarians are more than just teachers and information specialists - they are leaders. They work with students, teachers, parents, and community members to create a library media program worthy of the space, taking on a leadership role in the advocacy of its resources and services.
We have grown up with neighborhood libraries and school libraries, and yet at times those libraries are taken for granted. Rather than be just a place to check out books, a library can become an academic hub for a community, a place where teachers can find valuable resources and support, and where students can achieve academic success.
On this page I've included links to artifacts which showcase that leadership and advocacy.
